NBA Honors Toronto Raptors Guard Immanuel Quickley for incredible community work

The Toronto Raptors Guard Immanuel Quickley was appointed NBA Cares Bob Lanier Community Assist Assist winner for April, the league announced on Wednesday.

Quickley was recognized for his work to support youth lessons, health and well -being through a number of initiatives organized in the communities. He founded the Immanuel Quickley scholarship prices in cooperation with the Quickley Family Foundation to convey four -year grants to the John Carroll School in Bel Air, Maryland, his high school Alma Mater. The scholarships include an annual tuition fee of more than $ 20,000 and are for athletes who demonstrate management, academic excellence and strong character. Every recipient also receives mentoring from Quickley and his foundation.

“My mother has always said that the best thing you can do and help people,” said Quickley in a press release from the NBA. “So yes, I worked hard to be great on the square, but at the end of the day it is really about ensuring that it is not just about me and do things that are also space.”

Quickley continues to support health and wellness programs by Courtside Care and the IQ5 Elite Youth Basketball program. Courtside Care is a collaboration between Raptors, Sun Life and the Lamp East Mississauga Health Clinic, which should offer free health demonstrations and wellness formation for families with low income. Quickley took part in the event by talking to over 120 participants, including 50 young people, about the importance of regular health checks and active activities.

As part of the IQ5 Elite program, Quickley helps young basketball players to develop both on and outside of the square. The program combines high -ranking sporting training with academic tutoring, executive development and mentoring.

Quickley is the last monthly recipient of the award for the NBA season 2024–25. He will receive the David Robinson Trophy and the NBA will donate 10,000 US dollars to the Havre de Grace Boys & Girls Club.

The NBA takes care of the Bob Lanier Community Assist Award for its efforts to return throughout the season. The award is named after the deceased Hall of Famer and the long -time NBA ambassador and shows players who show a commitment to positive effects on their communities.
