21-year-old La Correctional Deputy, Tötöt

Santa Clarita, California-a young member of the Sheriff department of Los Angeles County, was killed in the event of a false crash.

The 21-year-old deputy Daniel V. Chavira died on May 19 after a collision with three vehicles on the San Francisquito Canyon Road. KABC reports. He was flown to the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in a critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Chavira has been in the department for a little more than a year after completing the academy class 476 on May 2, 2024. He was assigned to the correctional facility in North County.

In an explanation, Sheriff Robert Luna said that the department was “from the tragic loss of one of our own who was taken from us much too early.”

“Our deputy devoted his life to the service and security of others, both within and outside of the uniform.

Chavira came from a family that was deeply rooted in the law enforcement authorities. His father Rodrigo Valencia and his two brothers-dared the deputy Rene Valencia-Chavira, who is assigned to the Lancaster Station, survive him. His wife, deputy Crystal Valencia, works on San Fernando Court. His sister, Detective Nancy Alcaraz, and her husband, deputy Martin Alcaraz, are both assigned to the Palmdale Station.

“Although his watch ended too early, his heir to the service will live through those who loved him and continue the mission.” The Sheriff department said in an explanation.

The California Highway Patrol examines the circumstances of the crash.

LASD officers said they checked the deputy's work plan to determine whether he commuted to or from duty at the time of the crash.
