Blazer and wood request action

The Portland Trail Blazer and Portland Timbers are again concentrating on safety in the city center because crime concerns are continued. Both teams sent a letter to the city council, in which the public security in the budget proposal by Mayor Keith Wilson was prioritized.

“We have experienced unusually long response times from public first aiders on non-event days, some of more than 10 to 20 minutes if they are asked for help. We know that these response times are not caused by a lack of commitment, but by the current personnel survey of public security in the city,” says the letter according to KPTV.

Both the Trail Blazer and the woods serve as an important source of entertainment in the city of Portland, and each team shared the safety of its fans that enter their facilities. The intention of the letter of May 16 consisted of demanding the city “not to say goodbye to a budget that has an already thin public security system”.

Concentrate on the police reaction times on Portland Crime

The letter describes concerns about the slow response times of Portland Police Bureau (PPB) in earlier emergencies.

“If the personnel personnel deteriorate to public security, the response times could be reinforced.

Both the Trail Blazer and Timbers offer private security personnel for every game and event, but is intended as a supplement to PPB.

Dwayne Hankins, President Blazers President of Business Operations, and Heather Davis, Chief Executive Officer from Timbers, wrote the letter.

“Portland is on a crossroads, with the way we decide either to a prospering relaxation or to continue the negative economic pressure that families in Portland and companies have felt since the pandemic,” they wrote.
