Strasbourg Open: Emma Raducanu suffers an injury fright just four days before the loss of Danielle Collins

Raducanu said that after her impressive opening victory against Daria Kastakina, she was building a relationship with Clay Courts on Monday.

The victory over the number 17 in the world 17 Kasatkina came after Raducanu won three games in the fourth round of Italian Open for the first time in her career.

Raducanu was rewarded for a solid start against Collins, who broke early for a 3-2 lead, with the American shortened an increasingly frustrated figure in response to her opponent's consistency.

The Brit won eight points in a row to serve the set and joked with her team when she had made only six casual mistakes in the first 10 games.

But impulse swung dramatically in the Set Two when Collins broke up twice without an answer and Raducanu exceeded their first error display in the fourth game.

Raducanu demanded the physio just before he fell back 5-0 and left the Court after a brief discussion.

To facilitate her team, she seemed to move freely after the game was resumed and the games ended against her – but Collins would not be refused to make a decisive set.

Raducanu had a considerable pressure, whereby she did not win her first eight break points before converting her ninth sales to force the use back at 3: 3.

But the former US Open Champion was overtaken in the final phase and was broken twice when Collins completed the turnaround after two hours and 20 minutes.

The Spanish third seed Paula Badosa and the Russian Liudmila Samsonova are second -placed Collins' potential semi -final opponents in Strasbourg in 2024.

The other quarter -finals sees the American second seed Emma Navarro Brazil's Beatriz Haddad Maia and the Kazakh fourth seed, Elena Rybakina, plays Polas Magda Linette.
