83 million US dollars theft, tried murder, kidnapping in FL and Ca kidnapped

In a large federal operation that aims at the organized crime of Armenian, 13 people in Florida and California were arrested and participation in a violent transnational criminal company was accused.

The US Ministry of Justice (DOJ) said that the arrests are based on five federal complaints based on serious crimes, including attempted murder, kidnapping, freight theft and illegal firearm possession. Among the arrested is Vahan Haruthunyan, 50, from Hollywood, Florida, who appeared in front of a federal court in Fort Lauderdale and was imprisoned until a procedure was detained.

While the criminal network in the Los Angeles region is concentrated, Florida played a key role in the investigation and enforcement measures, according to the Doj. Harutyunyan is associated with a wider program that includes the theft of over 83 million US dollars of online individual dealers such as Amazon. The group supposedly posed as a legitimate freight company, contracted shipping routes and then diverted the freight for an illegal resale.

The organization describes the affidavit of federal fighting as part of a larger Russian mafia-connected network known as Armenian organized crimes. Since 2022, the internal power has been fighting between his leadership – as “Avtoritet” or authority in English – to violent confrontations, including attempted murders and retaliation, to violent confrontations.

One of the central figures, Ara Artuni, 41, from Porter Ranch, California, is accused

The investigation with investigations for home protection examinations (HSI), the police authority in Los Angeles and the Burbank police authority led to a confiscation of approximately 100,000 US dollars in cash, 14 firearms and three armored vehicles. The authorities are still looking for a remaining suspect.

“This transnational criminal organization worked with the structure and brutality of an international cartel,” said Dwayne, deputy special representative who are responsible for HSI Los Angeles. “The dismantling of such networks is of central importance for our mission.”
