The New York Yankees have seen a lot of squad overhaul since its creation of the World Series last year, but this is unlikely that it will be sufficient for a return journey to the autumn classic.

With persistent expectations for championship or bust, the Yankees are practically guaranteed to improve their list before the trading period expires. And an area that requires a thrust has not been taken into account since the opening day.

After the Yankees lost the long -time second Baseman Gleyber Torres in the Free Agency, they started the season with Jazz Chisholm Jr. in the keystone and a rotating occupation of supply options that filled on the third basis. Since then, the team has added the experienced DJ Lemahieu to this mix, but it lost its primary hot corner option when Oswaldo Cabrera suffered a brutal ankle injury that probably ended his season.

Now the Yankees have an even bigger hole on the third and many fans expect the team to pursue a significant trading extension like Nolan Arenado there.

Brian Cashman, General Manager of Yankees, recently provided a vague update about a potential trade after Cabrera's injury at a charity event.

“It is difficult to improve this part of the season,” said Cashman when he was asked after the New York Post after replacing Cabrera by an external addition. “We have what we have. We will judge it and progress with possibilities when you present yourself in the positions you do.”

Cashman may have hesitated to be more precise, since the recognition of the actual need for an upgrade would only offer a lever for potential trading partners. But his admission that it would be a difficult time to improve the rings at the moment, since each trade exceeds the finish line with greater probability.

While the Yankees continue their march towards another World Series appearance, fans can have hope for a kind of upgrade. Even if Cashman does not offer any details.
