Why does Google's new VEO 3 AI Videogenerator love this father?

On Tuesday, Google revealed the latest and best version of its AI Videogenerator VEO 3. It is not only impressive in the quality of the video it created, but also because it can generate audio that is to be seamlessly synchronized with the video. I will probably test VEO 3 in the coming weeks as if we are testing many new AI tools, but a strange function that I have already noticed is that it is obsessed with a certain father -who raises questions about the type of content VEO 3 and how it has been trained.

I saw that this morning X user Anyone who played with VEO 3 achieved a video of a stand -Up comedian who told a joke. The joke was: “I recently went to the zoo, it was only a dog in it, it was a shih tzu.” As in: “Scheitzoo.”

Other users quickly replied that the joke was posted on Reddits r/dadjokes Community two years ago and to the R/jokes Community 12 years ago.

I started testing Google's new AI video -videoed to see if I could get it to generate other jokes that I could trace back on certain Reddit contributions. This would not be a final proof that Reddit provided the training data that led to a certain joke, but a probable theory because we know that Google Reddit pays $ 60 million a year licens his content for the training of his AI models.

To my surprise, when I used the same entry request as the X user above -“A man who makes stand -up comedy, I tell a joke (including the joke in the dialogue) -I got a slightly different video, but exactly the same joke.

And when I changed the prompt a little – “a man who makes stand -up comedy, tells a joke (including the joke in dialogue) – I still got a slightly different look with exactly the same joke.

Google did not answer a request for comments, so it is impossible to say why his AI video -videoogener creates the same exact father joke, even if he is not asked and where exactly he moved into this joke. It could come from Reddit, but it could also come from many other places where the Shih Tzu -Witz has been published on the Internet, including YouTubePresent TopicsPresent InstagramPresent QuoraPresent icanhazdadjoke.comPresent Hozz.comPresent FacebookPresent RedbubbleAnd TwitterTo name just a few. In other words, it is a canonical joke from Cilly Dad by no clear origin that has been published online many times over the years. So it is impossible to say where Google got it.

But it is also not clear why this is the only coherent joke from Google's new AI video -video. I have tried several times to change the commands, and the result is either the Shih Tzu -Witz, the Kauderwisch or incomplete language fragments that are not jokes.

A prompt that was almost identical to the one who produced the Shih Tzu joke led to a video of a stand -up comedian who said that he received a letter from the bank.

The request “A man who tells a joke in a bar” led to a video of a man who said the idiom: “You can't have your cake and eat it too.”

The prompt “You told a joke on stage” led to a video of a man who said a little gibberish and then said he went to the library.

Admittedly, these videos Are Funny in an absurd Tim & Eric A kind of kind, because no matter what nonsense the comedian says that the crowd always breaks out in laughter, but it also clearly shows that Google's latest and largest AI video video is creatively limited. This is not the case with other generative AI tools, including Google's own Gemini. When I asked Gemini to tell me a joke, the chatbot immediately produced various, coherent father. And when I asked it over and over again, it always produced another joke.

Here, too, it is impossible to say what VEO 3 does behind the scenes without Google's input, but a possible theory is that it goes back to a safe, known joke instead of producing the type of content that the company has embarrassed in the past ISS glue or, or Creation of Nazi soldiers produce as colored people.
