John Elway 'Destroyed' by the death of an agent after the tragedy of the golf car

John Elway said that he was “destroyed on the ground and broken heart” of his long -time friend and agent Jeff Sperbeck.

The 62 -year -old Sperbeck had been life support after falling from a golf car that was driven by Elway, reported TMZ and suffered a traumatic brain injury before sustaining his injuries on Wednesday.

“There are no words to really express the profound sadness that I feel with the sudden loss of someone who means so much to me,” said Elway in a statement on Wednesday evening. “My heart and deepest sympathy go to Jeff's wife Cori, his children Carly, Sam and Jackson; and everyone who knew and loved him. Jeff will be deeply missed for the loyalty, wisdom, friendship and love, which he has brought into my life and the life of so many others.”

The tragic incident occurred on Saturday in the Madison Club, a private golf community, in La Quinta, California.

Sperbeck was declared dead on Wednesday, shortly after 1 a.m. in the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California.

The agent's wife, Cori, and his family described him as a “wonderful father, husband, brother, son and friend”, who “is deeply missed by everyone in a statement published on Wednesday evening”.

“We mourn this unimaginable loss as a family alongside our loved ones friends [Elways] And the many other customers called Jeff Friends. We are grateful for the overwhelming support of the support that we received for our family during this difficult time, ”continued the explanation.

Elway, Sperbeck, her women and Elway's son came back from a party after the StagoCoach Music Festival, TMZ reported.

The Sheriff's office in Riverside County carries out an investigation of the incident after it was made aware of it on Monday.

“The Sheriff's office in Riverside County undertakes to carry out a thorough examination of the death of Sperbeck and will take suitable measures based on the result,” said the department in a press release.

A witness described the scene of the intestinal shift in an interview with Kesq on Tuesday.

The witness Ali Simon told the outlet that she saw Sperbeck on the floor when people surrounded him to check how he was doing.

“It was so scary. It was like nothing we ever seen,” said Simon. “You just don't think you will ever experience something like that. His wife was hysterical.”

Simon said she “tried to call 911 on the phone to call someone.”
