The singer-songwriter Taylor Swift speaks in the second half in the AFC divisional playoff between the Houston Texans and the Kansas City Chiefs in the Gehlha area in the Arrowhead Stadium on January 18, 2025 in Kansas City.

Caitlin Clark is probably the most popular women's basketball players ever. But their robust fan support fades compared to Taylor Swift.

Nevertheless, Clark hopes that the pop icon will take the time from her schedule to take part in an Indiana Fever's regular game of the season with friend Travis Kelce.

“Oh, God. I don't know,” said Clark when he was asked after the victory whether Kelce and Swift would do Fieldhouse in Gainbridge. “I mean, I hope so.”

Clark was captured by cameras who spoke to Swift in Kansas City Chiefs' AFC Divisional Round Playoff game against the Houston Texans. Swift, who has been famous since 2023 and is regularly at Chiefs Games, has kept pace with Clark, even though it has recently got out of the spotlight.

“You are currently on a nice” In-Catation “mode,” said Clark. “I hope you enjoy a nice little outbreak from the spotlight.”

Musically relevant

Clark was in the headlines for her youngest feud with Angel Reese after Indiana's start of the season. But it is also relevant in musical circles.

Clark did not know his way to Swift with Swift, but was introduced to a song by LSU basketball star and young rapper Flau'jae Johnson.

“Some time ago she told me that she brought me into a song,” said Clark. “I know it takes a while to make music and put everything into a production and everything, but she was not. She really put me in a song.”

Johnson, who will enter the LSU in 2025-26 in her senior season, has the opportunity to follow both professional basketball and rapping because it is signed at Jay-Zs Label Roc Nation.

But when she was asked if she would work with Johnson, Clark retired.

“No. I would never. I would leave that to her,” said Clark. “She is incredible. Her music is really great. She is so talented and I was honestly a really big fan of her since we played her at the LSU.”

Fever dreams

Clark's fever is a 1-1 start, but on the short list of favorites to win the second championship in the team's 25-year history.

Although Clark and her extraordinary shootout attract most of the attention, her teammates are the reason why she feels great about the fever's chances in 2025.

“I think the fever of this year, probably our depths,” said Clark. “If you look over the league while preparing for other teams who have the kind of depth we do, makes it very difficult. It makes it difficult from a defensive perspective.”

Between Clark, teammate Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell, the fever have three players who were selected in the top two picks of their respective design.

“If someone doesn't have one at night, you just go to the next person on the bench and the next person,” said Clark. “You know we have to be able to find a way to use this to the best of our strength.”

Clark also believes that Kelce and Swift will also be on their side.

“I am sure you will cheer on the fever either way,” said Clark.
