The video seems to show the union members, block the entrance to Pratt & Whitney while the strike continues – NBC Connecticut

Union workers at Pratt & Whitney have been on strike for almost three weeks and discussions will be resumed at the negotiating table on Thursday.

In the middle of the strike, a video has appeared online that apparently shows union workers who block the entrance to the aircraft road into the work in Middletown.

It is unclear who the men are or when the video was recorded, but it seems to show that they block the street with their vehicles. A man is stretched out, a sweatshirt with a Union logo is wearing and a vulgar hand gaps on the driver while they come by.

A trade union employee who spoke anonymously with NBC Connecticut on the phone said the video shows the frustration that can be felt by union members.

“I think this means that we show what we all feel. That we thought the company we have worked for years would give us something fair that we can look forward to, and instead they did not deal with the things we were interested in,” they said.

According to a non-union worker who wants to remain anonymous, things don't just happen in Middletown.

At the East Hartford location, they informed NBC Connecticut that union members “do their best to make life difficult to achieve the property of Pratt & Whitney”. The worker added: “There is also a man who disappears to us and calls us names when we leave the campus in and off.

On Thursday morning, the international association of machine operators and aviation workers will return to the negotiating table with Pratt & Whitney Management. The 3,000 union members have been on strike since May 4. They fight for better job security, wages and pension.

“People have a legal right to access the facility, and we are looking for the police to keep the order to ensure that this is done responsibly and ask all pages to behave responsibly,” said Senator Matt Lesser (D-Middletown).

The Middletown police said they were made aware of the video, “but it was addressed informally without enforcement measures.”

When asked about an answer to the video, a union spokesman only said: “The negotiation committee focuses on preparing for the upcoming negotiations on Thursday.”
