Victim identified in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs, Colorado (KKTV)-The police department of Colorado Springs identified the victim of a fatal fall on May 11th.

The police said they were sent to the intersection of Sandalwood Drive and South Murray Boulevard for the crash at around 3:07 a.m. They said that a pedestrian crossed with a green light in a pedestrian strip from west to east via South Murray when a gold vehicle went south on South Murray and hit the pedestrian.

The police said the gold vehicle had fled the scene.

The pedestrian identified as 70-year-old Fred Brockway was taken to a hospital, but on May 14th Brockway died of his injuries.

On May 15, the police said, together with the big crash team, school resource officials and an additional Duty officer, they had arrested the driver of the gold vehicle, a 17-year-old man.

According to the police, the young person is charged with HIT and runs to exercise deaths and drivers. He was not identified.

The police said this was the 12th traffic -related death in Colorado Springs this year.
