Team Penske Betraudskandal, three fired, Roger Penske Comments, reaction

A former Penske Indycar driver claimed that Team Penske tried to make the cars look pretty if he illegally modified a role for two cars in qualifying for the Indianapolis 500.

For indiscretion, Josef Newgarden and the Aussie team colleagues want to both sent Power to the race on Monday morning (AEST) into the back of the network. It is the second fraud scandal in which the team is involved in so many seasons.

On Thursday morning, Team founder and owner Roger Penske tried to close the youngest scandal by firing his three best managers.

Penske released the team president Tim Cindric, the managing director of Indycar, Ron Ruzewski, and General Manager of Indycar, Kyle Moyer, 500 fraud scandal on Wednesday after this Indianapolis.

“Nothing is more important than the integrity of our sport and our racing teams,” said Penske in an explanation.

“We have had organizational failures in the past two years and had to make necessary changes. I apologize to our fans, our partners and our organization for letting them down.”

Penske is the owner of the three-car team, Indycar, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indy 500. He has won the Indy 500 A record 20 times.

The statement by Schüssen and Penske was his first public reaction since the two-time defense of Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden and teammate wants Power, before the final qualifying for the Monday morning (AEST) Indy 500, had an illegally modified specification on her cars.

After the shots had been announced, Penske held the meeting of a team owner from a distance from which he took over responsibility for his team's actions. Some who had a voting told the Associated Press that the meeting lasted 20 minutes and the owners were satisfied with the result. No owners demanded that the Penske cars be thrown out of the race and the only questions were how Indycar continues from the scandal in front of the world's biggest race.

“What he did in the discharge of three people is a big deal,” Tony Kanaan, director of Arrow McLaren Team, told The Associated Press.

“I think everyone recognized how big this is for Roger, and now it is only a question of how to go on and how to ensure that Tech does not miss these things again.”

Neither Newgarden nor the power were allowed to qualify when rivals pointed out the illegal change. Both drivers were then sent to the back of the field and start with the 32nd and 33rd place. Rival teams have argued that it is not enough because it is the second fraud scandal in two seasons and possibly illegal cars Jacob Abel from Dale Coyne Racing from the field.

Newgarden tries to become the first driver in history that wins three consecutive Indy 500s. No driver has ever won from the last row.

Scott McLaughlin's backwater was badly damaged by Scott McLaughlin in a practice accident before qualifying. He was allowed to keep his starting position.

Cindric and Ruzewski had already been suspended by Indycar for the race, and both teams had a fine of $ 155,500 ($ 100,000). It is the second year in a row in which Cindric and Ruzewski from Indy 500 were suspended.

The competitors have been asking Penske to tackle the situation since Monday, and at the same time interviewed, whether Indycar and the Indy 500 can operate without an independent line committee that are not available from Penske employees.

The problem for Team Penske began before the almost 12 shootout when the competing team owner Chip Ganassi was a choir of competitors who accused the fraud.

They found that non-approved changes had been made to the rear weaker, a safety device that absorbed and reduced the effects of the effects, and the assumption was that the modifications had given the two team penske cars an aerodynamic advantage in their qualification runs with four rounds.

Further studies showed that Newgarden's winning car from last year, which is exhibited in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, has the same illegal modification as the car team Penske was brought to the White House last month. Competitors claim to have photos that indicate that the change has been available for some time.

Helio Castoneves, who won three 500 driving for Team Penske, was one of the few who doubted the team, and believed Cindric's explanation that the illegal modification was only for aesthetic purposes. After all, Penske requires everything he owns to look flawless and as clean as possible.

“I think you did something to look good. I don't think this small (adapted) lip will make you three miles per hour faster,” said Castoneves.

“I know how Roger works. He wants to make everything beautiful, perfect, shiny. I think it was another mistake to touch an area that you should not touch. In the rule book you should not touch.

“I think what the series is doing is right. But something like that doesn't need to go quickly. I don't see this as a situation that cheats people. It wouldn't have changed anything in terms of performance.”

Colton Herta from Andretti Global also did not believe that this latest scandal was as harmful as the Penske Fiasco team of last year.

“I think that you had it to qualify? Absolutely sure. I think that you were quick for that? Absolutely not,” said Herta.

“I would imagine that this would equate the smallest edges of the drag. It is still disappointing to see that the team is being involved in something again, but I'm sorry, it is much different than 50 additional performance, and I am not passed on because of what they have done.”

Herta referred to the Penske scandal of the past year, when the team was involved in push-to-pass manipulation, in which Newgarden had access to an additional upswing in horsepower if he should not win the season stay.

He was robbed of his victory and Penke tensioned Cindric for two races, including the Indy 500.

Cindric is the biggest name that can fall in this scandal. He is a member of the Penske Hall of Fame team and has been the president of Penske Racing Inc. since 2000. It has long been accepted as the successor to Penske about the racing part of Penske's Empire.

Cindric was collected in 2005 for the role of President of Penske Performance and, by February, essentially carried out the daily business processes of all racing by Penske.

Cindric was also the most involved Penske number in the participation of the team in the DJR Supercars team between 2015 and 2020

But Most of his roles were robbed by Penske's Right-Hand-Mann in February, although he said that he had decided to resign as a general leader of the organization. He remained president of the Indycar program.
