Boeser has a goal and assist

Vancouver, British Columbia (AP) -Brock Boeser had a goal and a template in Vancouver's first period in Vancouver and the Canucks defeated the Anaheim Ducks 6-2 on Saturday.

Connor Garland, Filip Hronek, Dakota Joshua, Max Sasson and Rookie defender Elias Pettersson also scored a goal for Vancouver, and Quinn Hughes had two assists. Thatcher Demko stopped 32 shots to help the Canucks pull six points behind Minnesota for the second game card in the Western Conference.

Troy Terry and Trevor Zegras scored for Anaheim, and Lukas Dostal ended with 30 parades.

At Anaheim's first goal, Terry scored 1:22 into the game for a 1-0 lead.

The ducks then scored five times in a period of 4:30 to take a 5-1 lead.

Canucks: Vancouver, 10-1-0 in the last 11 games against the Ducks, allowed an opening goal at home for the 11th time this season. They recovered for the fifth time to score six goals.

Ducks: Anaheim is 12th in the west and was removed from the playoff dispute. Terry became the fourth duck player with 20 goals this season and started Leo Carlsson, Mason Mctavish and Frank Vatrano.

With his first NHL goal, Petterson scored 1: 1 at 9:40 a.m. Linus Karlsson's first assist to start the outbreak with five goals. Hronek steered Teddy Bleugee's shot at 10:46 to drive the Canucks forward. Boeser and Garland had the Power Play goal 2:53 apart, and Joshua scored 5:50 in the period to give Vancouver a 5-1 lead.
