By Alistair Bunkall, correspondent of the Middle East, in Jerusalem

Israel is understandably shocked after two young diplomats in Washington DC were murdered on Wednesday evening.

Politicians in Jerusalem have convicted the anti -Semitic shootings and mostly blamed global protests, media reporting and international politicians to fuel hate against Jews and spread “modern blood defamation”.

Yair Lapid, the official opposition leader, said that it was “a direct result of the claims that we have seen in protests around the world”.

Gideon Sa'ar referred to leaders and civil servants abroad, especially in Europe, which “showed the Palestinian terrorist propaganda”.

The Israel's diaspora minister continued and said: “We also have to hold on to take into account the irresponsible leaders in the West who support this hatred – be it by appeasement, double standards or silence”.

“French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starrer and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney all encouraged the forces of terror in different ways by not drawing moral red lines,” he said.

Yair Golan, an Israeli opposition politician, put his finger on Benjamin Netanyahu and said that his government had “anti -Semitism and hatred against Israel, and the result was an unprecedented political isolation and danger for every Jew in every corner of the world”.

Golan himself is responsible for this week by Itamar Ben Gvir and others that Israel “killing babies as a hobby”.

It was Isaac Herzog, Israel's President who tried to draw the country together by saying in a statement that “domestic Israeli political views are of no importance” and asked Israelis to “stop this ugly mud blade”.
