The 13-year-old violates seriously injured in the Henrico crash with e-motorcycle

Henrico, va. (Wwbt)-The police from Henrico says that a 13-year-old boy is in a critical condition after an accident with an electric motorcycle on Tuesday evening.

Shortly before 9 p.m., officials were called to cross the Wyndham Park Drive and the Dominion Club Drive for a reported crash between an electric motorcycle and a vehicle.

When the officials arrived, they found the boy on the street.

The police say that the driver involved stayed at the scene.

“The preliminary investigation shows that the teenager who operates the electric motorcycle drove north on the Wyndham Park Drive and tried to bend on the Glenshaw Drive when he collided with a Lexus RX. Several spectators in the area could quickly help the teenager until the first responders arrived,” said the police from Henrico.

The police believe that dark roads, a lack of lights/reflective devices and dark clothing could have contributed to the crash. However, they examine whether other factors may be involved.

Since more cyclists go on the streets in spring/summer, the police asks to follow the right security measures:

  • Obey traffic lights, signs, speed limits and lane markings
  • Wear a helmet and other protective equipment
  • Drive the flow of traffic and leave a lot of space between you and other vehicles
  • Always check behind you and signal before changing the lane
  • Apply reflective materials on your motorcycle and/or your helmet.
  • Anyone who has further information about this crash is asked to call Henrico Police Crash T. Holmes at (804) 501-5000.
