Friends and family of a 15-year-old Oakland boy who was shot in a robbery when he went to football training will gather on Thursday to demand justice for her loved one.

The rally on Thursday is planned outside the youth court in San Leandro to demand justice for Alvarado. It is not clear whether the suspect will appear in court.

In March, Alvarado, a student in Cristo Rey de la Salle in the second year, was on the way to football training in the 100th Avenue in Oakland with four friends when two people in the group approached. One of the suspects was armed with a weapon and said derbing that he should take off his backpack, or he would shoot him.

Alvarado's friends said he was shot four times when he tried to defend himself.

Alvarado's former football coach said that he was a good child who just wanted to do sports.
