Video shows the man who was captured by the Indian army in 2022, not suspicious of fatal Kashmir attack

After India accused arch rival Pakistan to support a fatal attack on tourists in Kashmir – an charges rejected by Islamabad – was shared a video in posts in which he falsely claimed that one of the attackers admitted that he was sent by the Pakistani secret agency. The video actually spread in news reports from 2022, and none of the armed men who were suspected of performing the latest attack was recorded from April 30th.

The video shows how a man is interviewed in a hospital bed. He tells the reporter who interviews him that his name is Tabarak Hussain and the spy agency of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) sent him to perform attacks in Kashmir.

The video appeared against the background of rapidly deteriorating tensions between new delhi and Islamabad after a fatal attack on tourists in the Kashmir administered Indian on April 22 (Archived Link) was attacked.

The same clip was also shared in similar articles on Facebook and X.

However, the video has been widespread since August 2022, and from April 30th the Indian police had not captured the alleged armed men.

The authorities have published posters for three men issued-Pakistaner and an Indian, of which they say that they are members of the Pakistan-based Lashkar e-Taiba group, an undefined terrorist organization. They also announced a two million rupees (23,500 US dollars) for information that leads to the arrest of each man.

The microphone, which is visible in the wrongly shared videos, bears the name of the Indian news channel AAJ TAK, and a subsequent keyword search led to a longer version of the same film material, which was published on August 25, 2022 on the channel's website) (archived link).

According to reports, the man was shot and captured by security forces when he tried to infiltrate the control line, the de facto limit in controversial cashmere. They said he explained He had been sent by the Pakistani espionage agency to attack the positions of the Indian army.
