Find the best summer flight transactions: How to achieve cheap flight price, even at the last minute

We go into the main time to achieve the best offers for top summer travel dates. So it's time to book your trips.

While some international routes are already becoming more expensive, you can still find many offers … even in Europe. Now is the perfect time to book domestic flights.

TPG recommends booking for international flights one to two months in advance for domestic flights and two to five months in advance.

This year too, there will be more good news this year, since the average flight prices have decreased compared to the year thanks to the demand for a weakening of demand. TPG has data together with Points Path, a free web browser extension that shows points and mileage prices in Google flights and cash prices. After the points have been able to combat data in recent years, the points found that the cash prices for domestic and international flights had dropped somewhat compared to the previous year.

To say all of this: It's not too late to meet a lot.

Here are our top tips for the search for a cheap flight and a cheap hotel, even if you book at the last minute.

Use Google flights and Google flights

Google flights explore the interactive card. Google flights

Google Flights and Google Flight Explore are the two largest weapons in my arsenal. I have written instructions for using both services, but in your simplest forms you help to find cheap flights on both tools.

Google Flights is my search engine. Here I usually start a search. Some of the best functions include determining price warnings and the pursuit of price stories.

Google Flights will tell you whether you will receive good business and help you to understand price trends. My favorite function is that you can define warnings. Google do an e -mail when the flights or hotels that I observe, cheaper (or even more expensive).

Google Flights Explore helps me to plan travel and find cheap goals that I may not even have considered.

It has an interactive map that shows you the cheapest goals, both from home and in your garden.

Remember that flexibility is the key when it comes to offers

Portugal in September 2018. Clint Henderson/The Points Guy

When it comes to finding a cheap flight, it is important to be flexible. By changing your arrival or departure date by a single day, you can save hundreds of dollars or tens of thousands of points or miles to flight price. This applies to both cash and the award ceremony. So make a wide network for the best values.

As you can see in the following picture of Google Fluts, you can save a lot of money.

Set up Deal warnings and use Deal -Gebsites

Eric Rosen/The Points Guy

I also achieved a lot of offers by registering for deal warnings from companies like Go and economical travelers.

Both companies have fundamental or premium subscriptions that characterize good offers.

Here is an example of Going that sent me a deal alarm for back and forth flight flights for less than $ 400 to Paris.

E -Mail deal Alert for Paris. Go

Thanks to an economical traveler alarm that was sent last year, I was able to find a business class flight to Paris in Air France.

There are many more deal Alert companies. I also recommend that you follow a couple on social media. I like the account that finds flights for myself, the regular contributions to offers (they go quickly). Here is one that it recently found for a point contract for Frankfurt.

TPG also publishes regular deal warnings. You can register Warnings on X And subscribe to our Daily Newsletter for the latest Deal News.

And remember no matter how much you think that you know about the redeemed of points or miles for flights, there are always new tips and tricks to transform these income into dream trips. Contact TPG to the Sweet Spots for Reconciliation and Websites such as ExpertFlyer (owned by the parent company of TPG, Red Ventures, for additional redemption ideas and a look at the upgrade inventory of the business class.

Register for Airline -E emails

The dot Guy

Most airlines and hotel programs send regular e -mails with information and alert subscribers to offers or special promotions. It is a great way to stay in touch with your favorite airline or favorite hotel, and you will sometimes receive prerequisites for offers.

I think that Alaska Airlines, Jetblue and Southwest Airlines offer regular sales, and they tend to inform their subscribers first.

In American Airlines it is great to inform me about advertising campaigns such as abbreviations for the elite status or the possibilities of earning bonus miles. Recently TPG found out of A Flash sale at American by e -mail to subscribers.

Set price search tools for good use

Rome, 2024. Clint Henderson/The Points Guy

There is currently a great harvest of award tools. Among those who use TPG are most points path, Sitzen.aero, point.me, pointsyah, pointheund and roame.travel. In this story you can read more about any tool.

I was very lucky with some of them.

Points Path is one of my personal favorites. In the free browser extension, the pricing for selected airlines in Google flights are awarded. As you can see in the screenshot below, Points Path tells me that I could book Miles from New York to Paris for only 57,000 Airlines Aadvantage Miles. In this case, however, it is probably a better offer to pay cash.

Consider vacation packages

Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin in August 2019. Clint Henderson/The Points Guy

One of my favorite hacks is to remind people of Airline's vacation packages. Sometimes when you book a hotel stay, a flight and even a rental car or an excursion, you can save up to 40% than you book separately.

American Airlines Vacations is the one I used most frequently. Just one example: I booked American Airlines in Business Class for two people to Germany with a stay of five nights in the Glorreich Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin. The whole trip cost me a little more than $ 2,800. That is less than the cost of the hotel that was booked by itself. The airlines sometimes even throw in bonus miles or additional savings.

All major airlines sell this type of packages.

The only warning hint is that these packages are booked by third -party companies. So if something goes wrong, you have to contact this third party instead of talking directly to the hotel or airline. However, this is worth the risk if I save 40%.

Conclusion

These are some of my favorite trips for looking for flight offers. I am pleased to report that not only cash prices have dropped this summer, but also more points and miles available this year than in previous years.

I think it will be the summer of savings, and it is not too late to achieve a sweet deal, even during the most busy travel time.
