Small jet accidents in San Diego who kill them on board, say officials, say officials

A little jet fell into a district in San Diego early Thursday morning, killed people on board and destroyed several houses, said officials.

Dan Eddy, the deputy fire chief of San Diego, told a press conference that there were several deaths among people on the plane. The number of people on board was not immediately known.

The aircraft, a Cessna 550, of which Mr. Eddy said that up to 10 people in Murphy Canyon near the quarter of Tierrasanta, had fallen on fire shortly before 4 a.m. and were destroyed, the police said.

The residents of the neighborhood of Tierasanta quickly evacuated and there were no reports of serious injuries to people on site, said Mr. Eddy.

“We have Jet fuel everywhere,” said Mr. Eddy shortly after the crash at an earlier press conference. He described the neighborhood as a “gigantic rubble field”.

The plane had tried to land on a highway at the Montgomery GibBS Executive Airport, from where it had crashed. Officials did not immediately say what caused the crash.

Examined the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.

In October 2021, another small plane crashed on the way to the same airport in the city of Santee northeast of San Diego to defeat a UPS truck and destroy two houses. The driver of the UPS truck and the pilot were killed in this crash.
