Small plane plunges to quarter in San Diego and initiates evacuations

A small plane crashed into a residential area from San Diego early Thursday morning, which led to a big fire in a two -story house and damaged at least a dozen more, the authorities said.

The crash occurred somewhere before 3:45 a.m. on Thursday at the intersection of the streets of the trial and the Salmon in the Murphy Canyon district near Tierrasanta, west of the Admiral Baker Golf Course. A temporary evacuation center was set up in the 4343 Shields St. an der Miller Elementary School. Hancock and Miller Elementary Schools are closed today. Childcare for both schools is provided with Miller Elementary.

According to the police, the evacuations apply to salmon, sampling and sculpine streets.
