Raider's flagship complains Christian Wilkin's injury: “If big boys have foot injuries, it is usually terrible”

A little more than a year ago, the Raiders Star's defensive Tackle Christian Wilkins gave a four-year contract of $ 110 million and it is a contract that looks a little shaky due to Wilkins' ability to stay healthy.

Wilkins played five games in the first year of his business and there is definitely a certain uncertainty that his status will pass into the 2025 season.

On Wednesday, Raiders head coach Pete Carroll was the first member of the organization to recognize that Wilkins had a setback and confirmed a report in front of the league insider Tony Pauline in April.

Later in the day, the flagship radiom presenter 'Jt the Brick' shared his feeling for Wilkins and pointed out that foot injuries with a player of the size of Wilkins can be particularly worrying.

“He is a big player. He has to be an elite-pro-Bowler and he [Pete Carroll] said that it is challenging. So if he is a big guy who injured oversized man, he is here every day, he works with the doctors and we are only here in May, ”said JT on Wednesday in his radio broadcast by Raider Nation.

“I have treated my sport all my life in 30 years. If big boys have foot problems, it is usually terrible, ie Bill Walton … It is another sport, so I don't play a trainer. I will not play a doctor, I will not report about Christian Wilkins injuries and his rehab, but he has to play,” went on.

“And again we take care of his health and well -being and health. But from the perspective of how much money he makes and how much money he has to play and guaranteed money, he has to play. And he has to be elite. He says he does everything right to come back here.

Later in the show, JT asked the Vinny Bonsignor of Las Vegas Review-Journal about Wilkins injury, and Bonsignore added that Wilkins was good when he recovered from January.

But something happened and Bonsignor said that there was clearly a setback that has led to uncertainties in relation to the situation.

“I talked to someone about it last night and … there is no good news, you know if he is not ready to play at the time … but the good news is that he has enough time to get ready,” said Bonsignor about Wilkins' injury. “The key is how big this setback was, how serious this setback was. Is it that everything will be endangered in the future because the more days he can be out there, or more days when he has to make up for.”

“I think the Raiders, and I am sure, Christian, hope that this is only something he has to deal with, but he will be ready to go a training camp and for the season,” continued Bonsignor. “Yesterday I spoke to someone who said [Wilkins] Was completely on the right track from January and was out of the hiking shoe, and everything was checked, and everything looked good, and he was at the goal of being ready … but obviously there was a setback. “

In an earlier post on X, Bonsignor gave a few details of what he belonged to about Wilkins' injury.

In movements that were probably to a certain extent related to Wilkins, the Raiders designed duels in the fourth and sixth round of defense.

South Carolina dt Tonka Hemingway was the second defensive player who was recorded by the Raiders in the fourth round, and her next election was Mississippi DT JJ Pegues in the sixth round.

Both players will have the opportunity to play a role in the next few months, as Wilkins continue to rehab.
