A man was arrested after a train met a tractor and a tractor on one level in Herefordshire and two people were injured and the rail services left a standstill.

A passenger, a man, was flown to the Hereford County Hospital, although his injuries were not life -threatening, said West Midland's ambulance service (WMAS).

After the crash near Leominster, a woman was also taken to the hospital with the hospital at 10:45 BST, although she is not considered seriously injured.

The British Transport Police (BTP) said that a 32-year-old man from Bromyard was arrested on the railroad on suspicion of endangered security.

A spokesman for the Branch Association said that a team of inspectors was at the location and collected evidence.

15 other people were checked and released on site. The tractor driver was unharmed, the hospital service added.

Ashley Phoenix, who was on the train at that time, said he was “trembling and vibration” and added: “I thought it would come out of the tracks. People, people, people, people. [were] Scream and scream.

“It is not something you expect on the way to work.”

He was under 56 passengers on board the train at 8:30 a.m. from Manchester Piccadilly and drove to Cardiff on Thursday morning on the Nordan Farm near Leominster.

With passenger Bill Sewell, he worked on his laptop when he heard a “massive bang and a lot of things flew past the windows”.

He said he saw a man with a bloody nose, but “on the whole I think it's all in order”.

“I think we are all a bit shaken because it is one of the things they don't expect when they are just [going] On a normal day to work by train, “he added.

Council member Dan Hurcomb, the municipal council of the region in the Herefordshire Council, said that he was grateful for the quick reaction of the emergency services.

“Although I am relieved that nobody was seriously injured, this could have been much worse,” he added.

“I hope there will now be a complete investigation to set the facts and ensure that this type of accident cannot happen again.”

According to the National Rail, all lines between Hereford and Craven Arms were blocked in Shropshire, and the services between these stations were canceled or changed, the fault was expected until the end of Friday.

A TFW spokeswoman asked people to check before traveling and said tickets were accepted by other operators.

A BTP spokesman said that the inquiries would still understand the circumstances that led to the crash.

The level crossing leads to an agricultural route over the railway rails and is only used by agricultural vehicles.

The facility is a crossroads worked by the user – in these cases, the owner of the country, who works with a signal, is responsible for opening and closing the gates.

Last month, the investigators found several errors in a security system in a TFW train after a fatal crash in October 2024.

The trains – the Shrewsbury after Aberystwyth Service and the Machynllleth to Shrewsbury Service – traveled to opposite directions in a single line and should pass on an additional section of the line, but the brake system was missing.

A man, 66, died and four other passengers were seriously injured.
