Liam Hendriks reveals in Instagram Post that he received death threats

The Boston Red Sox -Reliever Liam Hendriks has released Instagram that he received death threats and was the youngest MLB player, who spoke publicly about threats of fans this season.

On Thursday morning, Hendriks posted in his Instagram story: “Threats against my life and my wife's life are terrible and cruel. They need help. To let comments tell me that I should commit suicide and, as you wish, I would have died of cancer, is disgusting and hideous.”

Hendriks' Post takes place less than two weeks after Houston Astros Lance McCullers Jr. At the end of April, Cleveland Guardians apologized to Red Sox Outfield Jarren Duran after a fan confronted him during a game that “violated the guidelines of the fan fan behavior (the Guardians)”. Red Sox starter Lucas Giolito recently spoke to the baseball, which does not have a boring podcast about the preservation of murder threats. In 2019, Hendriks was one of dozens of players in several sports who had submitted a lawsuit against an accountant who had sent them threatening messages to the failed bets of the accountant.

On Wednesday, Hendrik's frustration expressed his use from the Red Sox Bullpen and was later charged with 5: 1 against the New York Mets because of the defeat in Boston. After the game, Hendriks found that he had spoken to manager Alex Cora and Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow about how he was used.

“There were a few games in which it was as if I was the last man in the bullpen and it's a new experience for me,” he said. “I have the feeling that I did well enough to be able to trust in a few of these situations, and it was not possible. We had a few chats and I came in there today and it didn't quite work out.

“At the end of the day, I had to go out there regardless of a situation and do the job when I platform, and today I didn't do it.”

Hendriks performed in eleven games since he returned to the hill this season after recovering a large part of the lymphoma of non-Hodgkin in the last two seasons, followed by Tommy John Operation. He received the Jimmy V Award for endurance at the Espy Awards 2023.
