The death of Recology Mechanic is still in the secret, since society remains calm over details

The circumstances of the accident death of the recology employee Alfredo Romero last Friday remain under lock and key. And Romero's family says that the company not only misunderstood its name when they called to tell them about the accident, but also explain how death happened.

We found out at the weekend that the 61-year-old Recology mechanic Alfredo Romero died in a kind of accident at work last Friday, and we know that the state's security authority, Cal-Osha, examined death.

But how and why Romero died remains a mystery, even if his family, although employees supposedly saw what happened.

“It was a complete shock when I got the call from Recology and told me that my father had an accident at work and that he had died,” said Romero's daughter Michelle Romero in a statement. “He worked as a mechanic. I couldn't imagine what kind of accident could have led to his death, and the company would not tell us.”

Romero continued KTVU this week that a company representative misunderstood his name when she called to inform the family about his death.

“They asked if I was related to someone else like a similar name, but it wasn't my father's name. They misunderstood the name,” says the daughter KTVU. “You were like 'Albert Romero?' And I said, 'Do you mean Alfredo?' “

She said that she spoke to her father's colleagues who said that he was working on a funnel on one of the trucks of recology when a “traffic accident” took place. The tragic incident occurred at the Recology tunnel on the border between San Francisco-Brisbane.

Romero was a member of the Teamsters Local 350, and the union said in a statement that the accident “a heartbreaking memory was that the waste industry was one of the most dangerous professions in the country”.

A spokesman for Recology said in an explanation: “We are broken with a broken heart for the Romero family. We understand and we share their shock. However, the incident is still being examined and we work with the right authorities to determine exactly what happened.”

The spokesman adds: “The loss of a member of our recology family is devastating for each of our employee owners, and our hearts go to Alfredo's family, friends, employees and relatives.”

A fundraising campaign for Gofundme to cover the funeral costs has almost achieved its target of $ 16,000.
