A day of inspiration & hope

Almost 63,000 people took steps last Saturday, April 26, to end pancreas at Pancan Purprid 2025 – and showed the country how much this passionate community is about helping those affected.

At every event – rain or sunshine – you could smile, hug, laugh, hope and moving moments that make the purplestrids to the amazing movement it is. And of course it is a highlight every year to see all survivors in their special Pancan Purprid Survivor T-shirts.

So far, 16.5 million US dollars have been collected by Purplester events in almost 60 municipalities across the country to help patients and their families. The passion on the day of the event day is an important memory of never fighting for more. And now Pancan can demand more because of this strong community, do more and do more for anyone who is touched by this disease today, and those who will compete tomorrow.

“You are supporting pancan's critical work – Giving Patients and Caregivers the Resources and Knowledge They Navigate This Disease Through Pancan Patient Services; Funding Research to Find a Way to Detect This Disease Earlier and Better Treatments for Patients; and Advocating for more Federal Funding for this Disease Because We Know Science Follow Money, ”Said Julie Flesman, JD, MBA, President and CEO, Pancan at purplestride Los Angeles' Opening Ceremony.

“Events like Purplester are currently more important than ever, since the recent cuts in the federal financing of the pancreatic cancer research recently urgently need both public and private means for this disease to ensure that scientists have the resources they need to make progress and improve the patient results. And take measures, “she continued.
