Climate change could affect your creditworthiness

(CNN, Kyma/Kecy) – People looking for houses in areas that are traditionally hit by storms can also be hit unexpectedly in the wallet.

According to a new report by the financial modeling company “First Street” of the climate -medication, creditworthiness can be higher and lower if potential climate catastrophes are taken into account.

In addition, they say that some mortgageers could be suspicious of some of the guidelines for home seekers in areas that are more likely to be hit by forest fires, hurricanes and tornados.

“First Street” says that the enforcement of weather cost mortgages could lead to losses of lenders of $ 1.2 billion this year. The majority take place in California, Florida and Louisiana. They predicted that this could increase to almost 5.5 billion US dollars in the next decade.
