Baltimore police published Bodycam video in shooting armed man

When three police officers from Baltimore sprinted through a man through Northeast Baltimore, one of them called a warning.

“I will shoot you, brother. You better off,” said Detective Steven Foster the 26-year-old Jai Marc Howell. Seconds later, on May 12th, Foster and two other officials exchanged shots with Howell in a fatal encounter that is examined.

When the cars drove around 1:30 p.m., the Howell police chased the 4600 block of the York Road, an area with houses, small companies and vehicles that were parked along the streets lined with trees. Officials said the officials patrolled into the area due to high crimes when Howell started after seeing them.

Howell had pulled a gun and, according to police commissioner Richard Worley, shot at least twice. On Thursday, the police released the Body Camera film material from the shootouts and showed fire to the moments of the Northern District Action Team – Foster, Enger Jimenez and Tony Tiburzi. The authorities said that the officers had fired around 24 shots, but did not say how often Howell was hit by balls.

Worley said howell fired at least two shots on the police vehicle. Another officer who had not fired his weapon took cover near a patrol car. The officers shoot back and continue to shoot after howell fell to the ground.

Worley said the officials had provided help before transporting him to the hospital where he died.

The members of the district campaign team take care of the most violent criminals in their assigned areas, said Worley. Officials said they did not know whether the officials knew howell, but the department later learned that he was sought in Baltimore County for attempted murder. Online court files show that there was an arrest warrant against Howell's arrest for murder and charges for murder, assault and firearms.

The three officials, none of whom were injured, were transferred to the administrative leave paid and received mental health services until the examination.

Jimenez and Tiburzi were in the Force for four or five years. According to Brian Nadeau, deputy commissioner of the resource and accountability duty, Foster, who has been working in the group for 11 years. was involved in a fatal shootout in 2018.

The Department of Independent Investigations of the General Prosecutor in Maryland examines how all fatal shootings in the state created fatal officers. The Baltimore Banner turned to the office of the Attorney General for a comment.

This is the second shooting in officer in Baltimore this year. In January, a bailiff shot a armed man in a courthouse in the eastern district before the man shot himself. According to the Attorney General, there were three fatal shootings in Baltimore in Baltimore last year.
