Kamala Harris mentions a viral video by San Diego elephants in language – NBC 7 San Diego

Former Vice President Kamala Harris gave her first big speech on Wednesday since the election in which she referred to a viral video of the elephants in the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Harris was the main speaker of a gala in San Francisco for Emerge America, an organization that recruits and trains democratic women who, according to his website, want to run for an office in the USA.

During her 15-minute speech, she asked the Americans to defend herself against the policy of the Trump government and asked the participants to join together. Then she mentioned the video of the elephants in Safari Park, which was a “alarm circle” during an earthquake that rattled the South California region at the beginning of this month.

A herd of elephants in the San Diego Zoo Safari Park took action to protect their boys after an earthquake in the region.

Here is part of what she said:

“Please allow me, friends, for a moment … Who saw this video a few weeks ago – the elephant in the San Diego Zoo during the earthquake? Google it if you haven't seen it. So, this scene was in my head. Everyone asks me: 'What did you think these days?' So.

“So in the video, for those who didn't see it, were these elephants, and as soon as they felt the earth trembled under their feet, they got into a circle and stood next to each other to protect the most vulnerable.

“Think about it. What a mighty metaphor. Because we know that those who try to make fear are most effective if you share and conquer yourself when you separate the herd when you try to think that you are alone. But in view of the crisis, the lesson is not to be dispersed. The instinct must be instant to find and know that the circle is strong.”

Former Vice President Kamala Harris referred to the viral video of the elephants in the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, which formed an “alarm circle” on April 30, 2025 in a gala in San Francisco.
