Dallas starts Summer of Safety to hire children and hold down crime

At the end of the school year, the city of Dallas launched its fourth annual program for summer security levels and offers free and cost-effective activities for children and teenagers all over the city. From handicrafts and music to pickleball -leagues and museum trips, the initiative aims to employ the youth during the summer break. According to city guides, the program works – Dallas has recorded a decline in summer crime rates since the initiative began, a trend that they describe in public security as “unprecedented”.
