At the i-70 on Wednesday morning in Leavenworth County killed in a frontal crash

Leavenworth County, Kan. (Wibw) – A passenger who was involved in an accident with two vehicles on the Kansas Turnpike died on Wednesday morning.

The crash was reported around 8:28 a.m. on the I-70 near Mile Marker 209 in Leavenworth County.

According to the crash log of the Kansas Highway Patrol, a Honda Civic 2025 drove east on the I-70. A 2023 Mercedes-Benz-van was in the same place to the west.

The Honda turned left from the street, crashed from two drain pipes, drove through the ditch and entered the I-70 lanes in a west direction while he was still east. The Honda crossed both lanes and further collided with the Mercedes-Benz.

After the collision, the Honda turned and rolled into the southern ditch. The Mercedes-Benz sat west, turned through a trench backwards, hit a small dam and tipped over to the driver's side.

The driver of the Honda, Kaiden Jimenez (18) from Lawrence, was brought to the Stormont Vail Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Mercedes-Benz, Jonathan Brown, 34, from Kansas City Mo, was brought to Overland Park Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

A passenger of the Mercedes-Benz, Shane Greiner, 28, from Kansas City Mo, was declared dead at the crime scene.
