The Democrats of Ohio hire anti -corruption calculations

Toledo, Ohio (WTVG) – Dark money, bribes and political corruption are all goals of a new series of proposals from Ohio Democrats. They say they want to prevent the same activity that has led to the largest public corruption scandal in the history of Ohio.

This 60 million dollar -broom scandal surrounded in 2019 house bill 6, a rescue package that was adopted because the First Energy bribed the legislators, including the spokesman for the house.

According to prosecutors, the company forwarded its money to the legislators through a non -profit organization of 501 (4) (4) to the legislators. These groups do not have to pass on their donors to the public. This would change under one of three legislative templates that introduced Democrats who deal with public corruption.

Another goal is to protect petition factors from harassment if you try to overthrow a law. The third tried to make the pay-to-play programs for public contracts.

Democrats say they want to prevent a future house Bill 6 scandal.

“No law in Ohio prevented this scandal. And since a law has not really tried to repair this massive injustice,” said the representative of the state representative of bride Rose Sweeney (d) Westlake.

The top republican of the house said reporters that he does not believe that Ohio need disclosures for the above-mentioned kind of dark money contributions. He adds that the GOP works on its own series of ethics reforms.
