The Clark County's office's office closes the case on death and allegations of the police chief

Clark County's office completed its investigation into the incident with Charles Gardiner on April 23, 2025.

It was found that the death investigation is in line with suicide, without indications of a bad game, the authorities said.

In a separate investigation, the Sheriff's office found that Gardin had committed several crimes, including sexual misconduct with a minor in the first degree, sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of a minor that affects sexually explicit behavior. The investigators believe that the inappropriate relationship lasts for about six to nine months.

At this point there is no evidence that there are additional victims, said officials.

Due to the death of Gardiner, the case is closed by exceptional approval, the Sheriff office said.

No further details are published in order to protect the privacy and well -being of the youthful victim.
