Topeka Police Start A new PACT initiative that aims to reduce violent crimes

Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) – Topeka residents had to enjoy a picnic in Little Oakland Park with local law enforcement agencies and at the same time set up a new initiative to reduce violence in the capital.

I think it works better if our community knows in advance what we do.

Get together a new initiative called PACT or the police and community to reduce violent crimes in the capital by giving everyone in the community a voice.

“Patrouill a little more in the neighborhood, many homeless people who pass by, and many children who provide us with us and a lot of violence around us, just to patrol near Oakland,” says Kody Cearly.

“There was a man at the petrol station where a man died, and so we have to have more police officers who patrol here,” says Carsen Cearly.

The new chief of police from Topeka, Chris Vallejo, says that reducing violent crimes is a vow that he is serious.

“We have looked at the data we have looked at that will bring us to certain districts in the next few months. There will be a high visibility, prevention patrouille, you could even see some officers on bicycles,” says Chief Vallejo.

With the city leaders and members from different parts of the city, all of which are stopped by Thursday, Chief Vallejo says that a sensible dialogue is a good starting point.

“I would like to participate more joint participation like this, which only get together and get to know our officers and who they are. The boss is very inviting.
