This week, two workers were killed in separate accidents at the workplace at two of the top-class production locations in Georgia: the Hyundai Motor Group MetaPlant America Battery facility near Savannah and in the Solar Panel of the Hanwha Qcells in Cartersville.

The tragic deaths of the workers in Georgia are part of a pattern of deaths in the workplace all over the country and all over the world, where industrial deaths have become commonplace.

The death of these two takes place within six weeks after the death of Ronald Adams, Sr. in the Stellantis Dundee Motor Complex in Michigan. Adams, a 61-year-old worker, was killed in an accident on April 7 when an overhead guarantor adhered to a sponsor and caused fatal injuries on his upper upper body.

On Tuesday, May 20, a construction worker was killed in the HL GA battery system, part of the MetaPlant America complex of the Hyundai Motor Group in Ellabell, Georgia. According to reports from the sheriff office of the Bryan County, the worker was fatally injured when an unsecured load fell from a forklift during the loading process.

The incident occurred shortly before 11:00 a.m. at the time of this script, the identity of the employee, which was used by a subcontractor who was involved in the construction of the battery system, was not released. The non-operational HL GA battery system is an essential part of the $ 12.6 billion investment from Hyundai in Georgia and is intended to provide batteries for the new assembly plant of the company's electric vehicle.

This is not the first death on the construction site of Hyundai metaplant. In March of this year, Sunbok You, a 67-year-old worker, was beaten and pulled by a forklift, which led to fatal injuries. In April 2023, Victor Gamboa, a 43-year-old contractor died after he fell 60 feet when his security line failed.

According to an OSHA examination in which the contractors cited, the employees received no reasonable safety equipment. These repeated deaths in the workplace make it clear that the safety of employees is subordinate to the drive by the Hyundai Motor Group in order to accelerate the project and reduce the costs before opening the battery system.
