Several defenders faded in late 2024

After the analysis of the 13 Green Bay Packers, who improved in the course of the season in 2024 and were able to rise before the new season, it is time to look at the players whose services are dipped later in the year.

Fortunately for Green Bay, this is a much shorter list. Here are the four players who did not play their best ball in the back half of the 2024 season and want to recover after the greatest decline in their average PFF game-by-game note:

S Evan Williams

There is a consensus opinion that Williams has taken full control over a starting safety place as a rookie and that the competition is anything but over. That could be a dangerous assumption.

Williams stormed out of the goal in his first season and achieved a 71.9 average PFF note in his first six appearances, including a three-game route, in which he achieved a grade of 85.2 on average.

From there, however, he came back to earth, which achieved a grade of 58.3 on average in his last seven games, a decline of almost 19%.

A context must be added here, namely that it was enabled in the second half of the season and dealt with several injuries. Simply meeting the “Rookie Wall” could have been a factor.

But in his beginner year as a whole, Williams essentially had three fantastic games, and the rest was fine.

For a choice in the fourth round, he exceeded expectations, and there is no reason to assume that he will not improve because he gains more experience, but the work he put together in the first year was a bit romanticized, and he still has to earn his starting place again in 2025.

Xavier McKinney

Williams' security partner McKinney also tried to maintain his spring time form in the course of the year.

He started the season with an absolute heating that had an average of 78.9 grade in the first five weeks and registered in every game, but McKinneyeys PFF degree fell from 73.9 in the first eight weeks to 65.2 in the last ten, a decline of almost 12%.

The assumption would be that the teams had later avoided him in the season after learning the dangers of throwing McKinney and reducing its effects, but that's not the case. In the first eight weeks he was only geared into reporting twelve times, compared to 25 -in the last ten.

It is worth noting that McKinney's game took over in the back half of the season, but still played well, just not at the crazy level he made early.

McKinney was the second highest defensive player in Green Bay in the season, behind only Edgerrin Cooper. There is no reason to worry.

Kingsley Enagbart

The average PFF degree from Enagbars dropped between the first nine weeks and the last nine by 10.5% from 61.4 to 55.

His forming instrument fell exactly with Rashan Gary against the starter towards Rashan Gary after the Packers Preston Smith exchanged, which is an important context.

It is not unusual for a player to see a decline in his grades when he becomes a more regular player, which can be an adaptation of being a rotation type.

He would have been influenced later in the year by the knee injury he had suffered at the end of the 2023 season and had not operated on.

It is possible that he hit something of a wall at the end of the year, like Gary when he returned from his ACL injury in the previous year.

However, Enagbar's season as a whole was not as strong as in the previous year, with his average grade being 60.9 in 2023 and hardly lower than its best route from 2024.

Since the Packers clearly want Lukas van Ness to win the starting job and two Pass -Rushers have been added in the draft, enaguous must start again this summer in order not only to lose its place in the starting line -up, but possibly even his squad.

Colby wood

Wooden is another player who should not feel that his place in the team is safe in 2025. He had some flashes as a rookie and earned an average PFF class of 60.8, but had a much tougher second season.

During his best route in 2024, Wooden scored an average of 57.2 in the first seven games in which he played, and this decreased in the last six to 53, which decreased from more than 7%.

After the Packers Warren Brinson designed and signed Udfa Nazir Stackhouse, which are both larger bodies that could offer a valuable ability to offer early downs, Wooden, which is much more pass-rusher, is still the fourth best team in this regard.
