The community remembers TN Clerk, who was killed in armed robbery

Lewisburg, Tenn. (WSMV) – Many all over Marshall County mourn the death of a loved one.

Paresh “Prince” Patel, 34, was shot several times on Tuesday during an armed robbery at a petrol station in Lewisburg.

“Our community is torn,” said customer Jeanette Roberts. “We loved him so much. I just pray that God gives us the strength to get through this.”

The authorities identified David Hamilton (50) as a suspect.

Here you will find instructions on how to observe WSMV4 live on various platforms.

Monitoring video from WSMV4 shows that Hamilton looks like he is buying something and then demanding money from Patel who was at the cash register.

Despite compliance, the 34-year-old was still shot.

“It's pointless,” said the customer Randy Hobby. “I hate to hear that someone else dies. People fall like flying these days.”

Hamilton was arrested on Wednesday in a budget Inn in Pulaski, Tennessee, and charged with criminal murder.

In the meantime, a provisional monument was formed outside the petrol station, where customers and parishioners came by to show respect.

“He is not just an employee in a shop, he is a family,” said Roberts. “I don't think Shorty knew the effects he had on this community.”

Patel will be remembered because of its generosity and work morality.

A vigil should take place this evening for Patels. The business remains closed until next week.
