Scientists fascinated to find the core of the earth that goes through gold and other precious metals

A unique analysis of the Hawaiian volcanic rocks has shown that the earth core runs gold and other precious metals into the above surface.

Over 99.99 percent of the earth's occurrence of gold and precious metals such as ruthenium are under 3,000 km of solid rock and far beyond the reach of humanity.

The precious metals were essentially locked up when the planet formed 4.5 billion years ago. “Precious metals such as ruthenium concentrate strongly in the metallic core, but extremely exhausted in the silicate coat” Nature.

The researchers who used new techniques recognized Ruthenium in volcanic rocks on the earth's surface in levels that pointed out that their origin was in the core coat limit.

The study showed that volcanic basalt rocks from Hawaii had a much higher concentration of precious metals than the coat.

“Our data confirm that the material from the core, including gold and other precious metals, goes into the coat mentioned above,” said co-author Nils, who has the University of Göttingen.

“When the first results came, we found that we had literally hit gold!”

The results show that the core of the earth is not as isolated as previously believed. As soon as they have been considered inaccessible, material from the core in volcanic outbreaks towards the surface is ejected and could be examined by such leaks in the future.

Forms of ruthenium could act as a new tracer to further examine the core coat interaction, according to the researchers.

The new analysis shows that several hundred billion tons of covered material rise from the vicinity of the core coat limit to the earth's surface such as Hawaii onto the earth's surface.

This also means that at least some of the golden and other precious metals in the world we are now relying on come from the core.

However, researchers said that it was still to be seen whether the core process observed in the study also existed in the past.

“Our results open up a completely new perspective on the development of the inner dynamics of our home planet,” said the study.
