Mets' Danny Young, which is placed on an injured list, may need to need a Tommy John operation

The Mets Bullpen lost another left -hander against the injured list on Wednesday when Danny Young came to AJ Minter on the shelf.

In Young, a left -wing elbow strain was diagnosed and the Tommy John operation was not excluded.

Righty Chris Devenski was selected from Triple-A Syracuse to put Young's place.

In order to make space on the 40-man squad, the recently signed Brooks Raley-a further left was transferred to the 60-day il when Tommy John was rehabilitated by Tommy John last May.

Minter was able to accompany an operation at the end of the season to repair a tense left Lat. According to Carlos Mendoza, he did another MRI test on Wednesday at the recommendation of a doctor who wanted a clearer picture of the injury.

Even without surgery, Minter would be exposed to a longer absence.

The loss of Minter and Young, which was mainly effective in the first week of the regular season after two shaky excursions, leaves the mets without a left -hander in the bullpen.

“It's as bad as possible,” said Young, who hadn't recovered well after the excursions and had done the imaging on Wednesday. “It's unhappy.”

Mendoza expressed the belief that some of the rights in his pen-darunter José Buttó, Reed Garrett, Huascar Brazobán and Max Kranick-in would be to get left-handed.

The 34-year-old Devenski was last in the majors with the rays last season and was good at Syracus this year. He allowed two runs in the ninth place in the 4: 3 defeat against Arizona on Wednesday.

After Francisco Alvarez debuted a bright yellow face mask behind the plate, said he had a mint version he would use.

“I like it,” said Alvarez about the striking colors. “It's different.”

The catcher played his fifth game and went 0-4 on Wednesday, after having missed most of the first month of the season with a broken left Hamate bone and has a few additional basic hits in 23 record appearances and eight strike outs.

His power dropped from 2023 a year ago, but he rose more on the base last season.

The Mets hope that in his third full season he will be a round hitter in the majors.

Brandon Geimmo Was outside the list for a second game in a row after experiencing flu -like symptoms, but he caught up for Luisangel Acuña And grounded in the eighth inning.

Jeff McNeil started on the left. Two of his first four goals of the season were additional bases because he continued the aggressive approach on the plate, which he exhibited for most of the second half of the last year.

“As long as he swings with conviction and tries to drive the baseball, it always feels like Jeff's best version,” said Mendoza. “In contrast to the balls in another way.

He sets it into a swing and gets good parking spaces early in an acclaim. “

Sean Manaea (diagonally) said he threw 90 feet again on Wednesday and trends in the right direction.
