Bergenfield scholarship honors football coach killed in the car accident

Rob Violante had a significant influence on so many children that he taught and trained over more than a decade at the Bergenfield High School.

“You couldn't find any person who believed [more] In the potential of a student, “said director Rob Ragasa about Northjersey.com.

After the death of Violantes in a car accident on May 14, the administration ensures that its influence will remain at school in the coming years.

The Rob Violant Memorial scholarship, which was created at the request of his family, is awarded every year a graduate from the student athletes in Bergenfield. The first scholarship for 500 US dollars will be awarded on June 2 at the school's annual senior prize ceremony.

Violante has been the Cheffussball coach in Bergenfield since 2011 and was the longest coach in the program history. He was also athletics trainer in addition to his role as a dean of the school's school.

At Violante's funeral on May 21, loved ones remembered him as a hardworking, good -hearted man who has changed the life of his students and players. Ragasa called him a “down -to -earth” educator who was able to motivate the students through positivity instead of talking to them.

The two administrators were particularly close, talked almost every night about the events of the school day and prepared for what would come the next day.

“I lost a lovely friend,” said Ragasa, adding that he was “bottomless” when he learned about violating death.

The headmaster also emphasized the sporting skills of Violantes, which he passed on to his nephews in their own sports career. Violante, a committed family man, did his best to take part in all their games when he extensively.

Violante has been able to establish connections to recruiters of College football nationwide over the years to play Bergenfield players at the next level. His reach was shown in a sympathy card that Ragasa from Bill Belichick, the new head coach at the University of North Carolina, had received after 24 seasons at the New England Patriots.

The last 12 months have died in June 2024 for the Bergenfield High School Community after the former headmaster, Jim Fasano. While the municipality is still calling out of violet death, its positive effect on school will continue to be continued in its name thanks to the scholarship.

“It's an enormous loss,” said Ragasa. “I hope that as a faculty, employees and students, we can continue the inheritance in some way.”
