Love, Death & Robot have recently broadcast a great episode (but it is not enough to redeem season 4)

Spoiler warning: The following article can contain a few light spoilers Love, death and robot Season 4.

I am a big fan of anthology TV programs, and one of my favorites of all time Love, death and robot. From the creator Tim Miller and Co-Executive producer David Fincher, the Emmy winner animation series for adults is a collection of short science fiction films/fantasy films, which usually no longer than 15 minutes and with breathtaking, very inventive stories and outside of the world's beautiful animation.

However, I hate admitting that I wouldn't quite say that Love, death and robot Season 4 (invoiced as volume 4), which in my personal opinion is easily the weakest collection of films in the series. Fortunately, there was a bright spot in the largely disappointing experiences that I had this time. In fact, I will first sing my praise for this episode before I get into my reservations over the season.

Love, Death & Robots Season 4's Best is “How Zeke has religion”

Director Diego Porrals “How Zeke has religion” is based on John McNichol's short story of the same name. A group of pilots follows the First World War, of which a Zeke (Keston John) called Zeke called the rest is by being a convincing atheist. However, he begins to question his certainty when the crew's aircraft is attacked by a monstrous demon that was made directly from hell by the Nazis.

Love, death and robot Is not quite a horror anthology -TV show, but it is known that it is frightening in some episodes, and “Zeke” is a great example of this for his traumatic graphic violence, which is cleverly faced with a wonderful animation of the studio mitmouse. What the creature function really does for me is the message about the advantage that you cannot understand your beliefs or the lack of the lack and the recognition of the secrets of the universe, which we as humans, cannot understand. I can't say that I would call it one of the best of all time Love, death and robot Episodes still, but it is easily my favorite from season 4, especially compared to the others.

Most of Love, Death & Robots Season 4 is plagued by a consistent problem

To be clear, I don't think Love, death and robot Season 4 is a complete DUD and not just “Zeke”. For example, I found director Jennifer Yuh Nelson's “Spider Rose” quite touching, especially as a committed pet owner, and the “The Screaming of the Tyrannosaur”, directed by Tim Miller, was a decent, futuristic chase-flick. But even these have the same problem that I have with the shorts that I don't care.

For me, the majority of the rates in this volume suffer from weak executions of decent concepts or weak executions of weak concepts. I have always praised the show for consistently having stories ideas that I could only dream of, and animation styles that I have ever seen. Season 4, in my opinion, mostly offers very little, which refreshes in the animation department, which is a shame, since this could have redeemed some of these shorts from their relatively inconspicuous actions.

Patrick Osborne's “The Other Large Thing” has a cute concept that a cat reaches world domination with the help of a robot assistant, but it ultimately felt like a setup for a joke with a weak point. I was even more disappointed with Miller's live action short, “Golgotha”, which is a priest (Rhys Darby) with an extraterrestrial meeting that I believe that in his 10-minute term, especially with an abrupt conclusion, he did not completely exclude the potential. I was also enthusiastic about the STOP animation comedy “Smart Appliances, Stupid Owners”, in which tech products complain about the people they use, but it was not nearly as funny for me as it was clearly tried.

Even David Finch's “Can't Stop” falls a little bit

The first short film in this latest collection had invested me from the start. An animated recovery of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who listed “Can't Stop” live and none other than David Fincher at the top? Hell yes!

However, it was a little overwhelming because it is really nothing more than a short concert document that replaces people with CGI Marionettes. Sure, I had fun with it, but I didn't think it was something special than what was what Love, death and robot was previously able to present. It is certainly cool to see how Fincher returns to his roots as a music video director, but I had assumed that I was hoping for a little more of the man who, in my opinion, has the absolutely best episode of this anthology series, season 3 of “Bad Travel”.

You know, I have looked at some of the older shorts of the series again and I liked many of them a second time. Maybe I should try to stream Love, death and robot Season 4 on Netflix at some point again and see how I then feel. However, there are still some rates that I could skip.
