Nanticocoke Man advocates homicide with a fatal crash Wilkes barre citizens' voice

A nanticocoke man who was accused of causing an accident in which a vehicle operator was killed in the all-terrain vehicle has guilty of the involuntary homicide.

The 40-year-old Richard J. Simon Jr. was accused, the death of 26-year-old James Edward Thiemann, who was fatally injured during the crash near the 126 Alden Mountain Road, was fatally injured shortly before 8 p.m., July 30, 2023.

On Thursday afternoon, Simon owed himself guilty to pass because of involuntary manslaughter.

The judge of Lucerne County, Michael T. Vough, accepted the plea and planned the conviction for July 3.

According to the public prosecutor, Thiemann traveled south with a group of other ATV drivers when a Hyundai Santa Fe from behind appeared from behind and tried to pass them.

The SUV driven by Simon drove in the north lane and hit the left rear tire of Thiemann's ATV and, according to the public prosecutor, threw Thiemann onto the sidewalk.

Thiemann died of his injuries a few days later on August 5, 2023.

Simon is represented by lawyer Theron Solomon of the Wilkes-Barre law firm Dyller & Solomon.

It remains free until the conviction of 25,000 US dollars.
