Lebron James' Agent Rich Paul, whether Laker's superstar will return to another NBA season: “I have no idea”

Los Angeles Laker's superstar LeBron James has a big decision to make this low season. Should the 40-year-old lead it back for another year, or is he finally ready to hang up his sneakers? James has not yet answered this question, and even his agent is not sure what the superstar of the Lakers will decide.

Rich Paul was asked about “The Rich Eisen Show” on Thursday after the future of James. Paul – who has been an agent since 2012 – said he was not sure whether James wants to play for another year in the NBA.

“I have no idea,” said Paul. “Zero.”

When Paul was pushed onto the topic, he indicated that the process usually works with James. At some point James and Paul will discuss the topic and James will make a decision on his NBA future.

“Usually our process is that you accept everything and see how it feels and all this kind of things,” said Paul. “The same process was for the last time I don't know how many years.

“He will come to what he thinks at some point, and we will go through some things and go from there.”

If James decides to return, he must also find out whether he wants to stay with the Lakers. James has a $ 52 million player option for the 2025-26 NBA season. If he chooses this deal, he stays with the Lakers. When he decides, James becomes a free agent.

While it is assumed that James would stay in Los Angeles, Paul did not want to speculate that he said during his appearance in Eisen's show: “I wish I had the answer.”

That shouldn't be a surprise. It is early in the low season and James is dealing with a knee injury. He has a lot of time to think about things and see how his rehab works before making a decision about his future.

At this front Paul said that he went into every off -season, provided James would continue to play. When asked how long James will continue his career, Paul said that he thinks James could play physically for a few more years.

It certainly looked like this during the regular season. Despite his age, James still appeared at a high level and scored an average of 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds per game. At an age when almost every NBA player is in steep decline, James has found a way to keep the time in chess.

It is unclear how long it can go on. James will be at the beginning of the 2025-26 41 NBA season and has exceeded each award from its list. The end comes with a lot of certainty soon, but James showed last season that he still has a lot left in the tank if he wants to trace it back.
