Doubts in the defense against the collision of Arsenal

Interim director Simon Rusk has confirmed that Southampton will be without a number of important players when Arsenal visits St. Mary's on Sunday for the last game of the season.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis will be overlooked late in Everton in Everton last weekend, while Jan Bednarek, who completely missed the trip to Goodison Park, continued to struggle with a knee problem.

The only other confirmed absence is the loan Albert Grønbæk, who no longer adds his five appearances due to an Achilles problem in January.

Before the showdown on Sunday, Rusk offered an update about the availability of the squad.

“We have a few injuries. Taylor had the evil last week that will rule him out, Jan Bendarek still fights with his knee, so it is unlikely that something will change with it.

“Albert Grønbæk fights with his Achilles, so we have a couple and have a little bit for him.”

Rusk added to Kyle Walker-Peters, who missed the last two trips through illness and has no contract in the summer:

“There is a balance with him, he had an evil illness and it has a good deal about the transition over the score of the points when we crossed the point crossing, and we try to build the dynamics for the next season. At this time of year we look at one or two of the younger ones, and there are some assessments that evaluate them.

“But what I can tell you is that Kyle was great to work and was a great servant of the club.”
