Heavy Metal drummer dead in the San Diego Light aircraft crash, says father reports

The former drummer of the heavy metal band The Devil wears Prada on Thursday in a small plane crash in San Diego, his father told TMZ.

According to this report, the 39 -year -old Daniel Williams was one of the several people who were killed after the Cessna private fell into a military house in San Diego on Thursday morning.

There were six people on board the aircraft and the police said that at least two were killed in the crash, but would not have mentioned Williams as a victim. The authorities say they don't expect to find survivors.

Williams' father, Larry Williams, said TMZ, he was confident that his son was on the plane, but the family had not received any confirmation from authorities.

The former drummer posted a picture from the Jet cockpit on his Instagram story on Wednesday, shortly before the start.

The band answered a picture of him on their Instagram account on reports on Williams' death on Thursday.

“No words. We owe everything to you. Love yourself forever,” wrote the band.

The small plane left Teterboro Airport on Wednesday at 11:15 p.m. in New Jersey, just outside of New York City, said Eliott Simpson, an investigator of the National Transportation Safety Bureau, on Thursday. It stopped in Wichita, Kansas, to refuel before it continued at his final goal in San Diego, he said.

The plane hit a power line two miles south of the airport before falling into the residential area, added Simpson.

The crash caused the destruction of several houses in the military residential area and prompted several cars to catch fire.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed in a statement that six people were on board when the Cessna 550 took off at 3:45 a.m. near Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport north of San Diego.

The other victims include Dave Shapiro, a co -founder of the Sound Talent Group, said a spokesman for the company.

“We are destroyed by the loss of our co -founder, colleagues and friends,” said the company in an explanation. “Our hearts go to their families and everyone who is affected by today's tragedy.”

Shapiro, 42, directed an impressive list of artists, including Vanessa Carlton, Pierce the Veil, Lamb of God, I Prevail, Sum 41 and Hanson, according to the music group's website.

“Nobody could say a bad word about him, he was just a nice beautiful guy,” said Lionel Conway, a friend of ShaiPro, on Friday of the Today Show.
