Carson Daly shares a message to Sheinelle Jones' children after the husband's death

Carson Daly has a message of hope for the three children from him Today Co-moderator Sheinelle Jones and her late husband Uche ojeh.

On Friday, May 23rd, the news was announced Today that ojeh had died at the age of 45 after several months of treatment against aggressive glioblastoma, brain cancer. Ojeh and Jones, 47, shared 15-year-old son Kayin and 12-year-old twins Clara and Uche Jr.

The dark messages were unveiled in a package on the Today Show and the Co-Cankore reflected Jones and ojeh's “strength” and love for their children in the middle of painful experience.

“One thing he always talked about, he spoke about these children,” said Craig Melvin about ojeh. “He loved these children more than anything in this world and was just so proud. He was the father who was on the verge of all football games. He was at all concerts and the concerts. He was this guy.”

Daly, a father of four fours, thought about the death of his own father when he was a child.

“I can't help but think about my own life in this situation,” he said. “You think so much about these little children, your heart goes to them. My father was 46 years old. I was 5 years old when my father died. My father was young, unexpected cancer diagnosis, and now I think back 45 years later, my belief in God. I mean, God has blessed me in my life, so I have blessed a young child here. I pray for her family and the children that they too.”

Daly's biological father Jim “Jd” Daly died when he was 5 years old, and he also had a strong relationship with his stepfather Richard Caruso, whom he called “Pops”.

“I've been praying to my father for years since he died. I say:” I know that they are awake. I'm okay. It's okay. You are at home where you should be with your heavenly father. And I'm flourishing here and it's okay, 'Try to lose this load from my father, “said Daly.

Savannah Guthrie, whose father Charles Guthrie died of a heart attack at the age of 16, added: “You can survive the loss of your father as young people like us.”

“And thrive,” added Melvin.

Melvin also praised Jones for taking over the additional responsibility as a caretaker for her late husband in the past few months and the primary supervisor for her children.
