The state police announced the death of the service in the retired first Sergeant.

Watertown, New York (WWNY) – The New York state police remembers their own.

Steven G. James, superintendent of the New York state police, announced the Sergeant Michael E. Snell, who died on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the age of 56, the death maintenance of retirement.

The death of First Sergeant Snell is due to an illness that results from its task in and around the location of the World Trade Center after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

The NYSP superintendent James says that the first Sergeant Snell has served the people of the state of New York for 23 years. He withdrew from the New York state police on May 24, 2023 and was most recently assigned to Troop B.

Snell is survived by his wife Tammy Snell and her four children: Wyatt, Ashton, Harrison and Lawson.

The agreements will be announced after completion.
