Trump threatens a 50% tariff on the EU and 25% tariff for apple

President Trump threatened to revive his global trade wars on Friday morning and added a new dose of chaos to trade relationships that had calmed down in the past few weeks, since the president directed his attention to the Middle East and a tax bill on Capitol Hill.

On Friday, Mr. Trump said that he would apply a steep tariff to European exports, starting in a little more than a week, and warned Apple that iPhones, which were produced outside the United States, would be exposed to a tariff of 25 percent.

The positions have resumed the stock markets and the risks for the global economy, like similar announcements by the President in recent months. If the economists were put into force, the tariffs said that Apple, one of the most valuable companies in the world, will pay considerable costs and collapse with the European Union, the largest trade relationship in the world through some measures.

On Friday morning, the President wrote about the social social that the discussions with the European Union “go anywhere” and that he recommends a 50 percent tariff to European imports on June 1st.

“The European Union, which was founded as a main purpose of taking advantage of the United States for trade, was very difficult to cope with,” wrote Trump. He claimed that the commercial barriers, taxes, corporate penalties and other blocks had contributed to a retail weight with the United States, which were “completely unacceptable”.

In a previous social media contribution, the President also aimed Tim Cook, the managing director of Apple, who visited Mr. Trump in the White House last week. The President wrote that iPhones should be sold in the United States, “manufactured and built in the United States, not in India or in another place”.
