INterior Minister of the Organization of the Turkische States met on Friday in the capital of Azerbaijan to strengthen regional security partnerships and to coordinate terrorist control throughout the Turkish world.

The second official meeting of the OTS Minister of the Interior, which was organized by Azerbaijanic Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov, brought security officers from Torkiye, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Hungary and OTS Secretary -Secretary, and OTS Secretary Kubanychi -Maaliew.

Global conflicts demand unity on unity

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya outlined the increasing global security challenges for the region and cited ongoing conflicts and economic instability as sources that are concerned for the Member States.

“We closely monitor the Russia-Ukraine War, the oppression of Israel in Palestine, global energy and food crises, the conflict in Pakistan India and the path of a trade war that threatens global stability,” said Yerlikaya during the sum.

The Turkish minister called for deeper integration among OTS members and observers to deal with what he characterized as a growing global disorder.

“Regardless of the status of the member or the observer, we have to further strengthen our security cooperation, especially if the world order continues to drift into chaos,” said Yerlikaya.

Minister reaffirm obligations to combat terrorism

The fight against terrorism became the central focus of discussions, and the minister confirmed their commitment to combating terrorist organizations. Yerlikaya expressly identified Feto and ISIS as ongoing threats that require coordinated answers.

“We have confirmed our common will to fight terrorist organizations such as Feto and ISIS (Daesh). We are confident about our goal of a terror -free torkiye,” he said.

The new criminal fighter council has proposed

The summit recalled a proposal for the establishment of a new “crime council” to facilitate cooperation between law enforcement authorities in OTS member and observer states.

“This council must be accessible to the interior ministries and law enforcement agencies of all of our brother countries,” said Yerlikaya, adding that a draft proposal to the participating nations would be distributed.

The initiative represents some of the broader efforts to institutionalize security cooperation throughout the Turkish world, since the Member States are trying to address common challenges through coordinated approaches.

The organization of Turkish states that were founded to promote cooperation between Turkish -speaking countries has increasingly focused on security issues because the regional tensions have escalated in several theaters.
