Key hit and Dominate Pitching Highlights Southern Oregon's victory over the Eagles

Columbus, Ga. – [Bracket | Schedule | Watch] Thanks to the Pinch Hitter Ariana Williams, Southern Oregon dipped 3-1 against Reinhardt (GA.). The Raiders improved their record to 49-9, while the Eagles complete their season with a record of 32-12.

The game started with the fact that Southern Oregon took the lead early in the first inning. Kierstin Grotewiel's single in the Middle enabled Kailer Fulton a goal and put Sou 1-0 on the scoreboard. The second inning recorded another run for the Raiders, since the first Baseman of the Eagles enabled Samantha Pemberton to score a goal.

Reinhardt's only run came in the fifth inning when Kyra Lightner hit a solo homerun into the left center and reduced the deficit to 2-1. However, Southern Oregon replied in the sixth inning, whereby Williams was asked to pinch HIT, and then step onto a solo homerun to the left field and to extend their lead to 3: 1.

The pitcher from Southern Oregon, Ayla Davies, provided an outstanding performance and shot a complete game with seven innings and only allowed one goal and a run while he was eight. Reinhardt's Pitcher, Macy Langley and Anslie Pettit, combined for six innings and collected eight goals and three runs, earned with two.

The game was marked by a solid defensive game from Sou, which did not make a mistake compared to Rus. Southern Oregon stays in Columbus at least one more day, as they will take over against the loser of Game Seven between Grand View (Iowa) and Cumberland (Ky.) On Saturday at 10 a.m.
