The man gets prison for the shootout near the Grand Rapids Bar, which 1 killed

Grand Rapids, Mi – a man who fired several shots in a shootout near a Grand Rapids bar, becomes prison because he killed a man.

The 31 -year -old Courvoisier Simmons was convicted of crime weapon on Thursday, May 22nd, for involuntary manslaughter and another two years.

The Grand Rapids police said that Simmons was involved on September 29, 2023 in front of My Place Bar in the 1400 Block of the South Division Avenue, in which several people were fired with weapons.

The police experienced a shootout between two men in the South Division Avenue near Fair Street.

But none of these men was Simmons.

Instead, he fired a weapon in the Garden Street about nine times. The shots fatally hit 27-year-old Lavadis Maurice Anthony Crawford-Blackman and seriously injured another man.

Simmons was later arrested.
